Correcting Breast Asymmetry

It is very common for a woman to have two breasts that are very different from each other! However, knowing this doesn’t help much if your breasts aren’t exactly the same and it is making you feel self-conscious. It can also make it difficult to find bras and clothes that fit you just right. Maybe it’s time for breast asymmetry correction from the Plastic Surgery Center of Southern NE.

What can this type of procedure do?

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, or even just age or genetics can make the breasts look asymmetrical. “Breast asymmetry correction” is simply whatever procedures are used to correct this asymmetry. If one breast is smaller than the other, breast augmentation can be used to make them more uniform. It can also help breasts that have different shapes or are in different positions, or even if you have nipples that are asymmetrical.

Basically, whatever the reason you think your breasts don’t look quite right, breast asymmetry correction can help!

Will I have to spend time in the hospital?

Breast procedures are not difficult and can be done on an outpatient basis. You will be given general anesthesia before the procedure is performed. You’ll be on your way home in just a few hours with a prescription pain medication (you should have a friend or family member drive you home).

You’ll see some bruising and swelling for a few days after the procedure, and you’ll return to the office so our doctors can check and make sure you are healing as you should. Most patients can go back to work within about 5 days, and you should wait for a month to 6 weeks until you return to strenuous exercise. The results of breast asymmetry correction are long lasting.

If you’ve been living with two breasts that look very different (and feeling self-conscious about it), it may be time to schedule a consultation at the Plastic Surgery Center of Southern New England. You’ll be surprised at the difference it will make in your life when you aren’t self-conscious anymore! Make an appointment at the Fall River office today, by calling (508) 567-3202.
