Recovering From Your Buttock Lift

What to expect during your recovery
There are two different techniques for buttock augmentation: silicone implants and fat transfer. Your doctor will help you decide which technique would be best suited for your body type and the results you would like to see, but your recovery will be similar no matter which technique you have.
• You will have to limit your time spent sitting (easier said than done, we know). Weight should not be placed on the buttocks. When you do rest, lying down is best, and you should sleep on your side or your stomach for the first few weeks. You can sit again once the pain and swelling have gone down (and when your doctor says it’s safe), but even then you should use a soft pillow for a few months.
• Don’t plan on doing anything too strenuous while you recover. Avoid your workout routine for at least 6 weeks if it is more strenuous than yoga or walking (even then you should ask your doctor to make sure this activity is all right).
• Take care of yourself. Make sure that you take time to recover after your surgery. Relax (pamper yourself, even), take time off of work, and ask friends and family to run to the grocery store and do other errands for you.
